The picturesque grounds at Notre Dame Spiritual Center are perfectly suited for contemplative walking. You can see some of the surviving buildings from the days when the Alfred Shakers lived here, as well as the Shaker cemetery. Cemetery Lane also contains the Brothers’ cemetery, Sacred Heart Shrine, and the Stations of the Cross. Some of the Shakers’ apple trees still survive in the orchard.
